I am not a photographer. A photographer "takes" photos. I choose to "make" photos and create experiences. Chemistry and light are my tools and cotton, wood, and paper are my mediums. Most of my work focuses on the use of the historical photographic process called Cyanotype which uses sunlight for exposure and only water to develop and finish. The resulting print is a bluetoned image that is tangible, unique, and not confined to the 2-D world of photography. Using cloth, wood, and paper I am able to give my audience a new way to touch, hold, and experience photography. No, I am not a photographer. Iam a chemist, designer, seamster, and painter of light.
