I am an artist who paints with thread, my chosen tool for my creative process is a loom, and that makes me a weaver. I have been weaving since 1991, mostly for personal satisfaction. I enjoy historical research into the history of weaving, learning about people, looms, and the designs that were in use in the late 1700’s through the mid 1800’s. That particular moment is special to me because it is the moment just before the Jacquard loom was invented and the world changed forever.
During this time the drawloom was the Queen of the loom kingdom. Large and stately, it had the power to create images in cloth. These images were so precious only the very wealthy could afford them.
My looms are in my home, I have chosen to follow the path of early weavers who found it most convenient to combine their work and home life.
