Cristina Marian lives in Bozeman, dividing her time between working in her studio, exhibiting in shows and offering classes for youth and adults. Born and raised in Romania, she received her BFA from the National University of Art, in Bucharest. Her work has been exhibited in Romania, Austria, France, Israel, Senegal and the U.S.
Marian’s paintings draw inspiration from memories, conversations and experiences that are both universal and private. Her newest works invite people to undertake new ways of seeing: to find the balance between solitude and connection, reality and imagination, recognition and resonance.
She is currently collaborating with Montana State University, Food and Health Lab, on commissioned paintings depicting healthy food, healthy food practices and the connection to our surrounding environment.
